If you missed paying your Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) bill by the due date, KSEB applies an interest surcharge on the outstanding bill amount under the Kerala Electricity Supply Code regulations. As per KSERC Electricity Supply Code: For delayed payments up to 30 days after the due date, interest is charged at 12% per annum. For delays exceeding 30 days, interest is charged at 18% per annum for the entire period of default.
KSEB issues a 15-day statutory disconnection notice starting from the due date. If the bill remains unpaid after 15 days from the due date, KSEB linemen are authorized to disconnect the service connection.
If your connection is disconnected for non-payment, KSEB charges a reconnection fee of ₹100 for Low Tension (LT) Single Phase connections and ₹250 for LT 3-Phase connections after full bill clearance.
